Global address list not updating in outlook
This reduces network traffic and improves performance.
The offline address book is a snapshot of information from the Global Address List (GAL).
Therefore, if you are working in Cached Exchange Mode and if you are working online — that is, your connection status is Connected to Microsoft Exchange — Outlook uses both the offline address book and the GAL to provide a complete listing of user information.
If you are in Cached Exchange Mode and your connection status is Disconnected, Trying to Connect, or Offline, you can see only the information that is in the offline address book.
Outlook 2007 users should select Tools from Outlook's uppermost menu, then Send/Receive and Download Address Book from the Tools drop down menus. Make sure the following options are selected: De-check the Download changes since last Send/Receive option Make sure Full Details is selected Make sure the \Global Address List is selected from the Choose address book drop down menu Click the OK button at the bottom.
The most recent version of the Global Address List will be downloaded from the CUMC IT Exchange server.
You can create or modify GALs, and update using the tools available in the Exchange admin center (EAC) and the Exchange Management Shell.
